“Trilogy of interactions with dogs” free workshop series to learn about human-pet “social etiquette”

The Development Bureau (“DEVB”) and the Harbourfront Commission (“HC”) present the theme of “New Attitude to Life‧New Dimensions of the Harbourfront” to welcome summer. A four-metre-tall infinity hexagonal prism is installed at the “East Coast Park Precinct” in Fortress Hill and Nick the Robot hexagonal interactive game zones are installed at the “Belcher Bay Promenade” in Kennedy Town from now to mid-September, incorporating lighting, art experience and interactive game elements that bring a brand new harbourfront experience to members of the public.

The installations are hexagonal in shape. With its characteristic of extending incessantly in an unlimited manner, the hexagonal shape brings out the “inclusive” and “sharing” concepts of the Harbourfront Shared Space (“HSS”), by unifying people and pets with the Victoria Harbour that forms a new attitude to life. On the other hand, hexagon represents the six unique HSS sites in Hong Kong, namely the “Belcher Bay Promenade” in Kennedy Town, “HarbourChill” in Wan Chai, the “Water Sports and Recreation Precinct” in Wan Chai, the “Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct” in Causeway Bay, the “East Coast Park Precinct” in Fortress Hill, and the Tsuen Wan Promenade.

The HSS sites are pet-friendly where the public are encouraged to bring along their pets to enjoy the inclusive harbourfront experience. A workshop series – “Trilogy of interactions with dogs” will be held on 15 and 29 July at the Tsuen Wan Promenade and the “Belcher Bay Promenade” in Kennedy Town respectively. Not only dog owners are welcomed to join, people who seldom interact with dogs are encouraged to attend the workshops which will show participants how to interpret body language of dogs and to make new furry friends. It is hoped that the workshops would demonstrate the inclusive spirit of the harbourfront and the theme of “New Attitude to Life‧New Dimensions of the Harbourfront”.
