In celebration of Easter this year, the Development Bureau (“DEVB”) and the Harbourfront Commission (“HC”) will host Hong Kong’s first Easter hat parade and Easter hat workshops at the city’s six Harbourfront Shared Spaces. Members of the public can use their creativity and design their own Easter hats. Pet owners are welcome to bring their pets on leashes to join the events. The Easter hat parade begins at the East Coast Park Precinct in Fortress Hill, and will proceed along the Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct in Causeway Bay and the Water Sports and Recreation Precinct in Wan Chai, and the route will finish at Harbourchill in Wan Chai. A festive mood will be in the air across the connected promenades on Island North.

The “Easter Hat Parade@Victoria Harbour 2023” will be held on 2 April 2023 (Sunday), Cheerleaders, dance groups and unicyclists will perform along the parade route. At the HarbourChill in Wan Chai, parents and children are welcome to join the first “Victoria Harbour Happy Easter Egg Rolling Challenge”. One week before the event (25 March 2023), the Belcher Bay Promenade in Kennedy Town and the Tsuen Wan Promenade will host the “Easter Hat Workshop@Victoria Harbour”, where the public can design their unique Easter hats to celebrate Easter and bring along for the Easter Hat Parade in the following week.

Over two consecutive weekends, two exciting programmes, “Easter Hat Workshop@Victoria Harbour” and “Easter Hat Parade@Victoria Harbour 2023”, will take place at the six Harbourfront Shared Spaces:

At “Easter Hat Workshop@Victoria Harbour”, to be held at the Belcher Bay Promenade in Kennedy Town and the Tsuen Wan Promenade on 25 March (Saturday), the public can unleash their creativity to decorate a unique Easter hats with the free DIY kit provided at the workshop. Alternatively, they can bring their own environmental friendly materials to decorate their hats. Those who have completed the workshop will be presented a certificate and may redeem a gift at the “Easter Hat Parade@Victoria Harbour 2023”.

Easter Hat Parade@Victoria Harbour 2023 and Victoria Harbour Happy Easter Egg Rolling Challenge

On April 2 (Sunday), members of the public can put on colourful hats and join Victoria Harbour’s first ever Easter hat parade. Pet owners are welcome to bring along their fur friends on leashes. The parade will be starting at the East Coast Park Precinct in Fortress Hill, strolling along the Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct in Causeway Bay and the Water Sports and Recreation Precinct in Wan Chai. The finishing point is at the HarbourChill in Wan Chai. Several performing groups including Cheerleaders, dancers and kindergarten pupils, as well as unicyclists, stilt walkers, clowns and Easter bunnies will join the parade and boost the carnival atmosphere at the Victoria harbourfront. The Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association will also join the event. A Special-edition Victoria Harbour Easter hats would be offered to participants and their pets with successful pre-registration. Easter chocolate eggs, popcorn and marshmallows will be given out to participants free of charge at different spots while stocks last.

Parents and their little ones are welcome to join the “Victoria Harbour Happy Easter Egg Rolling Challenge” at the HarbourChill in Wan Chai later that day. Those who have completed the challenge will be given a small gift while stocks last. Besides, the first 100 persons who hit all four checkpoints and collect all the stamps can receive a certificate.

Pop Up 1/2 Playground – The Easter Edition

Meanwhile, on the Kowloon side - construction of the first phase of Hung Hom Urban Park has commenced. From 7 to 10 April, the open space at the former Hung Hom Ferry Pier Public Transport Interchange, which sits next to the park, will host the “Pop Up 1/2 Playground – The Easter Edition”. Playright Children's Play Association will design half of the playground by using various Easter elements. Children participating in the programme will design the other half of the playground by using different tools and materials, creating their very own playground.
