“Your Show Time!” Christmas “Pop-up” Events at the Harbourfront

This Christmas, the Development Bureau and Harbourfront Commission have inherited the concept of “Harbourfront is One and All”, Christmas activities are held under the theme of “Your Show Time” at seven harbourfront sites, including the Belcher Bay Promenade in Kennedy Town, the Connector in Admiralty, the HarbourChill in Wan Chai, the Water Sports & Recreation Precinct in Wan Chai, the Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct in Causeway Bay, the East Coast Park Precinct in Fortress Hill, and the Tsuen Wan Promenade. Besides launching “pop-up” Christmas installations at these 7 harbourfront hotspots, a series of fascinating Christmas performances and workshops will also be held at specific harbourfront sites. The said Christmas “pop-up” installations and activities are under the exclusive sponsorship of the Hong Kong Jockey Club as one of the initiatives to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Pop Music Party for You and Me at The Belcher Bay Promenade (卑路乍灣海濱長廊)

Local artist Messy Desk has created an eye-catching, pop music-themed Christmas tree of 6 metres tall at the Belcher Bay Promenade, Kennedy Town. Children can play in the music tunnels under the Christmas Tree and ride the mini “music carts”, while enjoying with their family the colourful Christmas decorations at various spots on site.

Christmas Ballet Show at The Connector (添馬至會展海濱長廊)

This Christmas, the Connector in Admiralty (located between Tamar Park and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre) brings us to the world of ballet. Join the dance with ballerinas in the stunning setting of igloos, Christmas sledges, giant gift boxes and a spectacular Christmas tree.

A Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas at the Water Sports & Recreation Precinct (灣仔水上運動及康樂主題區)

The Water Sports & Recreation Precinct takes on the theme of Rock ‘n’ Roll, with a giant Christmas tree made of luminous wordings. Together with an eye-catching inflatable headset and other musical installations, the venue becomes a harbourfront Rock ‘n’ Roll stage injected with an energetic Christmas vibe!

“Shall We Waltz?” at the HarbourChill (海濱休閒站)

Adjacent to the Wan Chai Pier, the HarbourChill brings us a romantic Christmas with an 11metre-tall waltz-themed Christmas tree, accompanied by Christmas orchestral music from a music box installation. With such a romantic atmosphere, you can now waltz your way to a magical Christmas with your loved ones.

Elegant Christmas Ribbon Dance at Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct (活力避風塘主題區)

The Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct is themed with an elegant ribbon dancing Christmas tree, presenting an elegant swirling visual effect. You are cordially invited to look for the dancers along the way, imitate different postures through on-site installations, and take photos on the “pop-up” Christmas stage.

All That Christmas Jazz at East Coast Park Precinct (炮台山的東岸公園主題區)

Inspired by jazz music elements, an unmatched jazz-themed interactive Christmas tree takes the centre of the East Coast Park Precinct in Fortress Hill. The main body of the tree is made of metal chimes of various lengths, transforming into a percussion Christmas tree. There are also a variety of three-dimensional Christmas lights and gigantic snow globe installations, adding a luscious Christmas atmosphere and vitality to the harbourfront.

Little Feet Tap Dance at Tsuen Wan Promenade (荃灣海濱長廊)

The Tsuen Wan Promenade takes on the theme of tap dance, with cute little penguins staging a performance for the public, adding a brisk rhythm to the harbourfront. Follow their little steps to check out the Christmas tree, igloo and other installations on site. Don’t forget to take a selfie with the cute penguins!
